Sukhbir Badal Announces Four Promises at Pb Bachao Rally

Mohali:

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal targeted the Aam Aadmi Party government over law and order, drug menace, rising debt and government policies during the party’s Punjab Bachao Mission rally in Kharar.
Badal said Punjab could be brought out of its present situation only by the SAD and announced four major promises if the party returns to power.
He announced that the Atta-Dal scheme would be restarted, saying the scheme had earlier provided 20 kg of flour at Rs 4 per kg. He said the quantity would be increased to 50 kg under an SAD government.
Badal also promised Rs 1 lakh for the marriage of girls and said residents of houses built within the Lal Dora in villages would be given ownership rights and proper ownership documents.
On development, Badal said Nayagaon would be linked with New Chandigarh and developed accordingly, describing it as a dream of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The SAD chief also attacked the AAP government over the law-and-order situation, alleging that gangsters were openly carrying out shootings and that people were living in fear. He also raised concerns over the alleged weakening of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), claiming attempts had been made to divide and weaken the institution after the SAD government left office.
Badal maintained that an SAD government would address these issues and work towards restoring Punjab’s development and welfare schemes.
