Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Kulwant Singh said the joy and enthusiasm visible on the faces of devotees embarking on the pilgrimage reflected the popularity of the scheme. He added that the state government’s efforts to facilitate visits to religious places for senior citizens were receiving an encouraging response from the public.

The MLA said that, considering the growing demand and enthusiasm among devotees, pilgrimages to various religious destinations would continue under the scheme. Buses are being arranged according to the number of pilgrims and their requirements.

He said the Punjab Government was making arrangements for transportation, accommodation and meals for senior citizens, including facilities for picking them up from their homes, to ensure a convenient pilgrimage experience.
