No Compromise on Fight Against Corruption, Says Satya Pal Jain

Chandigarh :

Former Member of Parliament and Additional Solicitor General of India, Satya Pal Jain, has asserted that the fight against corruption will continue and that there will be no compromise on the issue.

Jain made these remarks while interacting with a delegation of the BJP Punjab Legal Cell, which met him to congratulate and felicitate him for his legal efforts against corruption in courts in matters involving the Punjab Government, GMADA and other agencies, on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other investigating agencies.

Expressing concern over reports of widespread corruption in Punjab, Jain said that the cases recently reported in the media represented only a small part of the alleged corruption in the state. He criticised the Punjab Government, alleging that instead of fighting corruption, it was targeting investigating agencies and, to some extent, challenging the role of the courts. He further alleged that the government was attempting to protect corrupt officials rather than taking action against them.

The BJP Punjab Legal Cell felicitated Jain in recognition of his stand against corruption and appreciated his legal efforts in the courts. Members of the delegation assured him that the Legal Cell, under his leadership, would continue its fight against corruption across Punjab, particularly through legal proceedings against what they described as corruption under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

Among those present in the delegation were N.K. Verma, Convenor of the BJP Punjab Legal Cell; Devesh Moudgil, Advocate and former Mayor; Dheeraj Jain, Senior Advocate; Surjit Singh Randhawa, Co-Convenor; Rajinder Sharma; Harneet Oberoi; Nitish Singh; and Charanjit Singh, all associated with the legal fraternity.
