Mohali : Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today reviewed the availability and supply of petrol, diesel and domestic LPG cylinders in the district and assured that there is no shortage of these essential commodities. The review meeting was conducted through video conferencing in view of the prevailing geopolitical situation. It was attended by sales officers of petrol and diesel dealers, representatives of dealer associations, LPG distributors and officials from various oil marketing companies operating in the district.
During the meeting, officials confirmed that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel and domestic LPG cylinders are available across the district. Supplies through all LPG outlets and petrol pumps are continuing normally without any disruption.
Deputy Commissioner Mittal appealed to residents not to believe or spread rumours about shortages of petroleum products or LPG. She urged citizens to continue purchasing fuel and booking LPG cylinders only as per their normal requirements and avoid unnecessary stocking or panic buying.
She further stated that any information regarding illegal stocking, hoarding or wrongful sale of petroleum products and LPG cylinders should be immediately reported to the district administration so that strict action can be taken against those responsible.
During the meeting, it was also clarified that the supply of commercial LPG cylinders has been restricted in accordance with government directives. However, certain exemptions have been granted for essential services such as educational institutions and medical facilities to ensure that their operations are not affected. Officials also informed that at the central level, a committee comprising sales directors of the three oil marketing companies has been constituted to review and monitor the supply of commercial LPG cylinders. The committee will regularly assess the situation and ensure that the distribution system continues to function smoothly.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that there is sufficient stock of fuel and domestic LPG in the district and urged the public to remain calm, follow official advisories and cooperate with the administration to prevent unnecessary panic or disruption in the supply chain.
