Mohali : Senior Congress leader and former Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu met residents of Sector 70 Mohali during a public interaction and listened to their grievances, assuring them that their issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for early resolution.
During the meeting, Sidhu said the Indian National Congress has always been committed to addressing the concerns of the common public. He assured residents that their genuine demands would be raised with the relevant departments so that necessary action could be taken at the earliest. Sidhu also criticised the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, alleging that despite making big promises before coming to power, it has failed to resolve many of the problems faced by people. He said residents had high expectations from the government, but several basic civic issues still remain unresolved. Targeting local MLA Kulwant Singh, Sidhu claimed that residents’ concerns were not receiving adequate attention. He pointed out that problems such as damaged roads, poor infrastructure and dirty water supply have been troubling people in the area for a long time. “The big promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party have largely remained on paper.
People had hoped that development would speed up under the new government, but many are still struggling for basic facilities,” Sidhu said. He further alleged that the AAP-led government has not undertaken any major development work in Mohali over the past four years.
Sidhu also highlighted development initiatives carried out during the Congress government, including the establishment of a medical college in the area. On the occasion, Amarjeet Singh Jeeti Sidhu, Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, and Satinder Singh Sodhi were also present.
