Mohali : Bihar’s political debate intensified as Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized the NDA government for failing the state despite its long tenure, pointing to persistent issues like poverty, unemployment, crime, and low literacy rates.
He argued that the state continues to lag in socio-economic development and questioned the government’s effectiveness in addressing citizens’ basic needs. The BJP and state leadership countered the claims, citing improvements since 2005 under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The party highlighted a decline in poverty rates, rising literacy levels, increased job opportunities, industrial growth, higher per capita income, and strengthened law and order.
BJP leaders stressed that Bihar’s development trajectory has improved significantly compared to the earlier period under Lalu Prasad Yadav, asserting that governance and policy initiatives have positively impacted the state’s economy and social indicators.
The exchange underscores the growing political contest ahead of upcoming elections, with both sides using socio-economic performance as a key point of debate.
