
Chandigarh : Mohali, March 13 (FTN): Under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Bus Scheme, the 11th bus of the initiative was flagged off today from the Mohali Assembly constituency by Councillor Sarabjit Singh Samana, son of MLA Kulwant Singh, along with local coordinator and state awardee Phoolraj Singh Hora. The bus, filled with devotees, will undertake a three-day journey to various religious sites, generating significant enthusiasm among participants.
Devotees to Visit Key Religious Sites
During the journey, devotees will visit major religious and historical landmarks including Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, Durgiana Mandir, Ram Tirath Valmiki Mandir, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Wagah Border. Speaking to reporters, Samana emphasized that the trip will encourage interaction among participants, strengthening communal harmony and fostering closer ties.
Scheme Fulfills AAP Promises
Phoolraj Singh Hora highlighted that the initiative is part of fulfilling promises made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal during the Assembly elections. He stated that such programs reflect the government’s commitment to both spiritual engagement and regional development.
Citizens Benefit from Subsidies and Welfare Schemes
Sarabjit Singh Samana also spoke about other government welfare measures. Under the free electricity scheme, over 80% of Punjab residents now enjoy bills waived for up to 600 units, with additional reductions for higher consumption. The Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme has been launched, providing coverage of up to ₹10 lakh for medical treatment, and registration for beneficiary cards is ongoing.
Infrastructure Development in Mohali
The government is also focusing on infrastructure improvements. Mohali’s link roads have been upgraded, and several traffic intersections have been constructed or enhanced to reduce congestion and improve urban aesthetics.
Community leaders, including Upinderpreet Kaur Gill, GP Singh, Bhakshish Singh, Amarjeet Singh Arora, and others, were present at the event to support and witness the launch.
The 11th bus flagged off today marks another step in the Chief Minister’s efforts to blend religious tourism with public welfare and infrastructure development in Punjab.
