Mohali : The first book ‘Dhanna Baba’ written by Amarjit Singh Dhanoa, a budding writer of the city, was launched today. The book was launched in an impressive ceremony held at Canview Hotel in the presence of associated readers and dignitaries. It may be mentioned that Amarjit Singh Dhanoa has retired from Electricity Board as Accounts Officer. Whatever he felt during his childhood living in his village Rupalheri became the basis of his book. DSP was the chief guest of the event. Harsimran Singh Bal said in his address after releasing the book that writer Amarjit Singh Dhanoa deserves congratulations, who has written remarkable writings in his first book. He said that the author has well mentioned the incidents that happen in ordinary life, which often remain neglected from our attention. He said that in all the writings of the book, Baba Nanak’s principle of ‘Kirat Karo’ has been given the highest status and this is what separates this book from other literary writings. In his address on this occasion, former councilor and president of Punjabi Heritage Cultural and Welfare Society Satveer Singh Dhanoa said that what the writer saw and experienced in his childhood has been well described in the book. He said that the author has written this book after being influenced by the impressive personality of an old man living in the neighborhood in his village Rupalheri. Finally, Amarjit Singh Dhanoa said in his address that what we see and feel in childhood, it goes with us throughout our life. He said, ‘I used to be sensitive to every incident since childhood. Every small incident was very important to me. Although the nature and behavior of the elder of our neighborhood would be normal for others, but I used to watch and think about him very carefully. So, I have given the form of a book to those memories, which are in front of you today. I hope that you will respect my writings.” Inderpal Singh Dhanoa Director Tricity Voyagers, Navkirat Kaur Dhanoa, Hardeep Singh Sergil, Vikramjit Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Harjinder Singh, Hardeep Singh Dhanoa, Harwinder Kaur etc. were present.
