Model Town police in Delhi have uncovered a major counterfeiting unit involved in the large-scale production and sale of duplicate two-wheeler spare parts and engine oil under well-known brand names.
An FIR has been registered under Sections 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1957, following a complaint by Speed Networks, Chandigarh, the authorized representative for Honda Motorcycle and TVS Motor Company.
The complaint revealed that counterfeit engine oil and other products were being manufactured and sold in bulk, bearing the trademarks of established companies. These substandard products pose serious safety risks, potentially compromising vehicle performance and endangering lives.
Delhi Police has launched a thorough investigation, supported by senior officials, to dismantle the illegal network. Authorities have seized a large quantity of counterfeit engine oil bottles that were being distributed across India, and stringent legal action is underway against the accused.
