
Mohali :
The randomisation of counting teams and allocation of staff for the Panchayat Samiti elections–2025 in Kharar, Majri, and Dera Bassi blocks of Mohali district has been completed to ensure a free, fair, and transparent counting process. Election Observer Amrit Singh oversaw the arrangements.
For each constituency, 14 counting tables have been set up with four-member teams at each table, along with five reserve teams to handle any exigencies. Counting for Kharar and Majri will take place at Government Polytechnic College, Khooni Majra, while Dera Bassi’s votes will be counted at Government College, Dera Bassi. All personnel have received requisite training, with reporting time set at 6 am and counting commencing at 8 am tomorrow.
In a precautionary move, the District Magistrate has ordered all liquor shops within a 3 km radius of counting centres and strong rooms to remain closed from 5 am to 5 pm on the day of counting, in accordance with the Punjab Excise Act, Representation of the People Act, and Indian Civil Defence Act.
