Pb MLA Randhawa Launches ₹2.7 Crore Lalru Water Project

MLA of Derabassi Assembly constituency, Kuljit Singh Randhawa, inaugurated a major drinking water supply project in Lalru under the Nagar Council and Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board on the occasion of the New Year. The project, with a sanctioned cost of ₹2.70 crore, aims to enhance access to safe drinking water in the town and tackle long-standing water supply issues.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Randhawa extended New Year greetings and reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the constituency. He informed that the project includes the installation of two new tubewells—one at Anaj Mandi, Sardarpura (Ward 4) and another at Alamgir (Ward 9)—with an estimated cost of ₹40 lakh each, totaling ₹80 lakh.
In addition, a 5.93-kilometre water supply pipeline will be laid at an estimated cost of ₹1.90 crore to ensure effective distribution of potable water across Lalru.
MLA Randhawa said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is committed to strengthening basic civic amenities and providing citizens with uninterrupted access to safe drinking water. He added that the project would resolve persistent water-related problems in Lalru and boost urban development in the area.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Nagar Council President, party block president, councillors, officials from the Water Supply & Sewerage Board, and local residents.
