Mohali:
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal held a review meeting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Assembly constituencies 52-Kharar, 53-SAS Nagar, and 112-Derabassi whose mapping progress is below 25%.
During the meeting, she urged BLOs to accelerate their mapping work and set a target to achieve at least 30% improvement. She instructed officials to update voter records with utmost seriousness at the ground level.
She also directed BLOs to prepare separate lists of deceased, shifted, absent, and duplicate voters. Additionally, they were asked to conduct door-to-door verification based on the 2003 voter list and ensure accurate data collection and record validation.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that any technical or operational difficulties should be reported to the District Election Office for proper training and guidance. She also highlighted the use of the toll-free helpline 1950 for election-related assistance.
She further stressed that accuracy and transparency in voter lists must be ensured by completing all assigned tasks in a timely and responsible manner.
