TB Mukt Bharat’ App Launched for TB Eradication

The Government of India has launched the “TB Mukt Bharat” app under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme to strengthen awareness and accelerate efforts to eliminate tuberculosis, officials said.Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said the Android-based app is available on the Play Store and aims to encourage citizens to participate in the TB eradication campaign. She said the platform will connect TB patients, health workers, volunteers, and Nikshay Mitras to improve patient monitoring, treatment tracking, and nutritional support services.

The app also includes an AI-based “Khushi (e-Sangini)” feature, which provides instant answers to TB-related queries in Punjabi, Hindi, and English.
Dr. Jain added that a 100-day intensive TB prevention campaign is underway in the district, with health teams conducting door-to-door awareness drives and screening camps. Suspected cases are being tested on the spot and registered immediately for treatment.
She reiterated that TB is completely curable and treatment is provided free of cost under the DOTS system at all government health facilities. Citizens have been urged not to panic and to seek medical help if symptoms such as persistent cough, weight loss, fever, fatigue, or blood in sputum are observed.
