Under the Punjab Government’s Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme, three more buses carrying senior citizens from the Mohali Assembly constituency were flagged off on Monday for a pilgrimage to Amritsar.
The buses departed under the supervision of Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh. Two buses carrying devotees were flagged off from Mote Majra, while one bus left from Dharamgarh by State Awardee and constituency coordinator of the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme, Phool Raj Singh.
The pilgrims will visit Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Sri Durgiana Mandir, Ram Tirath Valmiki Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and the Attari-Wagah Border during the yatra.
Phool Raj Singh said these were the 83rd, 84th and 85th buses to leave from the Mohali Assembly constituency under the scheme. He added that due to the growing response from senior citizens, the number of buses has been increased from two to three buses daily to accommodate more devotees.
He said MLA Kulwant Singh regularly monitors the implementation of the scheme and ensures that senior citizens receive all necessary information and facilities for a comfortable and hassle-free pilgrimage.
Phool Raj Singh added that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is effectively implementing welfare schemes and fulfilling its commitments to the people.
