Honours BLOs for 100% Digitisation of Voter Forms Under SIR-2026

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal todayw felicitated Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who achieved 100 per cent digitisation of voter enumeration forms at 42 polling booths under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls.
The officers were honoured during a function held at the District Administrative Complex, Mohali, in recognition of their contribution to the ongoing voter list revision exercise.
Congratulating the BLOs, Komal Mittal said the completion of digitisation at 42 polling booths reflects the dedication and commitment of election staff. She noted that the Special Intensive Revision is currently underway at 838 polling booths across Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district.
The Deputy Commissioner urged BLOs to remain vigilant during the online verification process and promptly rectify any discrepancies to ensure the preparation of an accurate and error-free electoral roll.
Sharing their experiences, Sanjana Garg, BLO of Booth No. 38 in the Derabassi Assembly constituency, and Vaishali, BLO of Booth No. 162 in the SAS Nagar Assembly constituency, said that pre-mapping of voter data made the collection and digitisation of enumeration forms smoother and more efficient.
Komal Mittal also informed that the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision, providing additional time for door-to-door verification, submission of enumeration forms and digitisation.
According to the revised schedule, the door-to-door survey by BLOs will continue until August 3, 2026, while the draft electoral roll will be published on August 13. Claims and objections can be filed from August 13 to September 12, with their disposal scheduled until October 8. The final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026.
She appealed to BLOs who are yet to complete their assigned work to utilise the extended timeline and ensure timely completion of the revision process.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh, Election Tehsildar Harpreet Kaur, District Nodal Officer (SWEEP) Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal, Election Kanungo Surinder Batra, and other officials were also present at the event.
