Thousands Join ISKCON Chandigarh’s Jagannath Rath Yatra

Chandigarh:

The annual Jagannath Rath Yatra was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in Chandigarh on Saturday, as thousands of devotees participated in the grand religious procession organised by ISKCON Chandigarh.

Devotees gathered in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, and earned spiritual merit by pulling the sacred chariot. The entire procession echoed with the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, devotional songs, drum beats and flower showers, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
The beautifully decorated chariot carrying the deities attracted huge crowds, with devotees dancing and chanting throughout the route. Special arrangements, including Mahaprasad distribution, Harinam Sankirtan and other religious programmes, were made for the participants.
Ameya Foundation founder Abha Bansal also took part in the Rath Yatra and offered prayers to Lord Jagannath. She prayed for the happiness and prosperity of all devotees and the progress of the nation, saying such religious events promote love, harmony and spiritual awareness in society.
Organisers said devotees from different parts of the city joined the procession, making it a grand success. The Jagannath Rath Yatra holds immense significance in Sanatan tradition, with a belief that pulling the chariot’s ropes and having darshan of the deities brings divine blessings and spiritual merit.
The successful celebration filled the city with devotion and positive energy as devotees prayed for world peace, prosperity and the welfare of humanity.
