The 28th voluntary blood donation camp organised by the Punjabi Virsa Cultural Society concluded successfully with an enthusiastic response from the public. As many as 220 young donors voluntarily donated blood during the camp, contributing to efforts to save precious lives.
A specialised medical team from PGI collected the blood units following all safety protocols. MLA Kulwant Singh said blood donation was a noble service that could give a new lease of life to an unknown person. He also appreciated the society for continuously undertaking social welfare activities.
Satvir Singh Dhanoa said the society’s dedicated volunteer team remains available 24 hours a day for emergency blood requirements in Mohali, Chandigarh, PGI and nearby hospitals. He said the objective was to ensure that no family loses a loved one due to a shortage of blood.
Society office-bearer Amarjit Singh Dhanoa said the organisation’s young volunteers remain committed to serving humanity and reach needy patients whenever assistance is required. He appreciated the efforts of youth volunteers led by Inderpal Singh Dhanoa in making the camp a success
A large number of social workers, residents, youth, blood donors and society members attended the camp. The society appealed to people to donate blood voluntarily and help ensure timely availability of blood to patients during emergencies.
