The 40-year-old religious tradition of taking the sacred flag of Mata Naina Devi Ji around Sohana was observed with devotion and enthusiasm by the Janata Sewa Dal, Sohana, this year as well.
Members of the Janata Sewa Dal, accompanied by a large number of devotees, took part in the traditional procession amid the beats of drums and devotional music. Devotees raised religious slogans and prayed for the peace, prosperity and good health of people in the area.
As per tradition, the sacred flag of Mata Naina Devi Ji is offered at the shrine on Ashtami. Devotees participate in the ritual with deep faith and pray for the welfare and prosperity of society and the region.
Janata Sewa Dal president Deenanath Ji said the organisation was proud to have continued the religious tradition for the past four decades with dedication and devotion. He said the tradition not only reflected religious faith but also strengthened the spirit of unity, brotherhood and social service.
He added that the participation of the younger generation was encouraging, as local youth were coming forward to become part of the religious and social tradition. Their involvement, he said, was giving new energy to the initiative while promoting values of service, devotion and social responsibility among the next generation.
Members of the Janata Sewa Dal said the four-decade-old tradition symbolised the people’s unwavering faith in Mata Rani and the unity of Sohana residents. Devotees prayed to Mata Naina Devi Ji for happiness, peace, good health and prosperity for all, as well as the overall welfare of Sohana and surrounding areas.
