Documentary Film on Guru Ravidas’ Life Draws Good Response in Villages

A special documentary film being screened in villages across the district through documentary vans as part of the Punjab Government’s initiatives to mark the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji is receiving an encouraging response from residents.
As part of the campaign, the documentary was screened today in Salempur alias Nangal, Chharbar and Manauli Surat villages. The film highlights the life, philosophy and teachings of Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, along with his message of humanity, social equality and harmony.
Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said the initiative was aimed at making people, particularly the younger generation, aware of the life, ideals and contribution of Guru Ravidas Ji towards social reform and human welfare. She said a special documentary is being screened daily in three villages through the documentary vans, giving residents an opportunity to learn about the Guru’s teachings and philosophy.
Villagers who watched the film appreciated the Punjab Government’s initiative and described the documentary as inspiring and meaningful. They said such programmes play an important role in connecting young people with the teachings and lives of great spiritual personalities.
Residents also said the initiative was not only spreading awareness about Guru Ravidas Ji’s philosophy but also promoting mutual respect, brotherhood and social harmony among people.
