Shaheedi Samagam Begins MLA Kulwant Singh Joins Nagar Kirtan

The annual Shaheedi Samagam, honouring Dhann Dhann Mata Gujjar Kaur Ji, the four Sahibzades, and all martyrs, began with devotion and enthusiasm at Gurdwara Nanak Darbar, Sector 90-91.
The event commenced at 10 AM with a grand Khalsa Parade, starting from Gurdwara Nanak Darbar, Sector 91, and moving through Sectors 74 and 94. MLA Kulwant Singh welcomed participants and actively joined the Nagar Kirtan.
Addressing the media, MLA Kulwant Singh said that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, the Aam Aadmi Party government had made extensive preparations to ensure a smooth Shaheedi Mela. He highlighted that lakhs of devotees pay homage at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Sri Chamkaur Sahib during this period, and arrangements were made to ensure participant convenience and safety.
The parade featured the distribution of turbans, religious literature, and Langar to devotees. Floweraj Singh announced that written religious tests for children in age groups 0–6, 6–12, and 12–15 will be held on December 24–25, while the Sarb Sanjh Welfare Society will organise Gatka competitions on December 25, with prizes to be distributed by MLA Kulwant Singh.
Children from Guru Asra Trust and members of the National Gatka Federation showcased martial arts under the guidance of Bibi Kulbeer Kaur Ji.
The Shaheedi Mela will continue at Gurdwara Nanak Darbar and conclude on December 28 at 10 AM with a collective recitation of Chaupai Sahib by the Sangat.
Key participants and volunteers ensuring smooth conduct included Gurmeet Singh Saini, Nihal Singh Virk, Gurdeep Singh Tiwana, Vikram Singh, Harpal Singh, Palvinder Singh Goraia, Kuldeep Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Bachitter Singh, Gurbir Singh, Sandeep Singh Midukhera, Harpreet Singh, Harjit Singh, Harbhajan Singh Bhatia, Jasjit Singh, and members of Mai Bhago Women Satsang Sabha, including Jaspreet Kaur.
Volunteer teams, under the supervision of MLA Kulwant Singh, provided tea and water along the route. Notable volunteers included Amarjit Singh, Sumer Singh Brar, Jagjit Singh, Sajjan Singh, Jagdish Singh, Jaspal Singh, Sukhwant Singh Gobindgarh, Harpal Singh Channan, Gurpreet Singh Kurra, Sukhchain Singh, Dharmpreet Singh, Surinder Singh, Sukhbir Singh, Inder Mohan Singh, Parmjit Singh Kalsi, Gurvinder Singh, and Satnam Singh.
The Samagam was marked by devotion, active community participation, and well-organised arrangements, reflecting the spirit of reverence for the martyrs.
